The Ocean’s a reboot to an already great film with an all female cast this time around and ran by the little sister of the original Oceans series. This on paper sounds like a great recipe for a new saga for the Oceans series plus they have a great cast of different but great set of actors that have pretty great acting chops. The movie starts off giving us a quick view into each of the players that are to make up the rosters life before they become an official part of the team, which I enjoy it felt a lot like the other Oceans movies. The plot is pretty simple they want to steal something that is hard to get a hold of and she’s been coming up with a plan to get just that and destroy a certain enemy which of course is an ex but that’s neither here nor there. The plot thickens as certain things go aria before the heist. My problem with this movie has to do with how felt through the movie I never felt like a super surprised or ah ha moment in this movie the danger level of them getting caught felt minimal and any bumps in the road seemed very minor. It’s a cool movie I just didn’t get that feeling that I usually get from these movies. The villain or mark never really feels like someone that I want to see get caught up I’m not invested in what happens to him so much that I care for the revenge. I also feel like its missing that cool factor or smoothness to the whole operation that makes the movie what it usually. I think it’s a good movie I think it just missed the mark a bit and doesn’t give me that cool I cant believe they pulled all this off type moments. If you’re asking if I think you should see it I think my answer is yes but it just doesn’t have that same great Ocean’s feel like it matters and the characters pull you in.
