Being an “artist” is vague these days and could mean multiple things. Zyme is the true definition of an artist because he produces art in several forms. The Bay Area artist raps, sings, produces music, visuals, graphic designs, and so on; he wears more hats than a Lids store.
“I am a part of a new wave,” Zyme explained. “I feel like I have always been ahead of my time. My favorite thing about recording is capturing my feelings. When you capture the emotion of what you are going through and make it into a song, it is a priceless thing.”
As a child, drawing was a regular thing for Zyme, and his kid scribbles turned into massive corporate and independent deals. Zyme has also licensed music with Nike, Coca Cola, Warner Brothers and Nintendo. He’s one of those guys that even if you have not heard of him, you have likely heard his stuff somewhere. His newest track, “My-Sell-F”, is the latest example of his work catching on as a sound of its own.
