The Mack is Back

In mid July 2015 the small All American city Spokane, WA was home to thousands of people for a week straight all playing a helping hand in the production for the new music video “Downtown” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. While Macklemore was born and raised in Seattle Ryan Lewis grew up in Spokane before relocating. Lewis attended Ferris High School in the 509 before moving to Seattle where he graduated from Roosevelt High. The ties to the Eastern Washington city make sense to why they wanted to shoot this particular video there, especially since the city looks like it is still 1986 which fit the theme perfectly.

Today the mini movie finally is released to the public and it is downright hilarious when it comes to the costumes and the moped theme, it even has guest appearances from Grandmaster Kaz, Kool Moe Dee, Melly Mel, the Massive Monkees and Ken Griffey Jr of all people to name a few.

The cinematography strength is nothing new to Mack and Ryan Lewis. Their last album The Heist had three singles with high end produced music videos that garnered awards glaore now they are kicking off the latest single in the same fashion. Details on the duo’s next album release are not out yet, but the song and video should be plenty to hold the fans over until then. Check out the video here, these guys definitely get the FLVR salute with creativity that never falls off!
