The long awaited and heavily promoted movie Straight Outta Compton is taking no time to rack up the millions at the box office. The N.W.A biopic swarmed to $60.2 M’s in the first weekend out beating the estimated target of around $56 million that had Universal expected. The movie opened in 2,751 theaters giving it the top spot at the box office this weekend making it the biggest success for a musical biopic of all time! The closest next to the N.W.A flick is the 2005 movie Walk The Line which netted $22.3 in its first weekend, so needless to say that record has been shattered.
