PRINCE FOREVER

PRINCE FOREVER

By Bryant BBoy Worthing @bboyworthing

Losing an icon is never easy, today will be remembered as one of the hardest as the world comes to grips with the loss of the music legend Prince.

Prince didn’t make music, he was music.

At the age of 57 he was found in his home in Paisley Park confirmed by his publicist, many at first thought and hoped it was a celebrity hoax, but indeed found true the musician was gone at a fairly young age. Just last week in mid air Prince had an emergency landing in Illinois and later was just found to be dehydrated, his heavy tour schedule never slowed down even when he was ill which may have been a part of his eventual death.

During his 35 year career Prince put out 39 solo albums and never really slowed down on the recording tip. He was also iconic in style as a trend setter for fashion where he always took risks with clothes brining threads to life in vibrant styles and colors. His record Purple Rain was the first of four No. 1 albums on the Billboard top 100 while several others landed in the top 10 spanning four different decades.

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota Prince continued to live and create music there while traveling the globe. He was a transformative figure in popular music who had many hit singles that can easily be labeled timeless including “When Doves Cry”, “Little Red Corvette”, “1999” and “Purple Rain” which is only naming a few of course. His legacy is not the easiest to define or capture, but one thing is for sure the world will miss one of the greatest musicians of all time as this story continues to develop.
