Loving the Duke guards. Quinn Cook and Tyus Jones combined to score 44 points ad Duke took care of North Carolina, 84-77
For a moment there when Duke took out Winslow and Okafor at the same time, I thought Duke was in trouble. Instead, with prime-time on the bench, the guards took over. Quinn Cook was his normal self, knocking down shots and locking up Marcus Paige late in that game with the rugged defense he always brings.
I don’t know if people are watching this Tyus Jones player from Duke. The freshman from Apple Valley Minnesota is the real deal..hidden gem.
With Winslow in foul trouble and Okafor resting, Jones took over. Duke ran their offense through Jones and time and time again, the kid delivered.
5-10 from the field, (2 – 3-pointers made) and 12-12 from the line. This kid is a special talent who is tough, crafty in getting to the hoop, feisty and getting better every time he steps on the court. He stepped on THEE court the other night, finishing wit 24 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Those are Russell Westbrook numbers under coach K’s regime.
Love it that people are still looking past Duke!
I’ve got them in the final-four and I haven’t seen the bracket. In case you forgot, Duke closed the season on an 11-0 run. They have’t lost for a while, and they’ve battled and had some adversity, but each time they prevailed.
Duke is coming out of those first few rounds, NCAA fans for a number of reasons, like the other day vs NC, let’s just say the best back-court in the country is going to show-up.
I’ve got Duke vs. Kentucky in the championship game…….could you imagine? Just like 78!/
