Had a blast working on some fun looks with the FLVR fam from out and about simple fun in the sun make-up to adding a little extra for a night out on the town.  Here’s the beauty breakdown from our FLVR beauty expert Alexis White.

When the seasons change, it is important to modify the products you use. Think lighter, water based, fresh and easy.

Athletic Look

This look was photographed with an athletic model, but this makeup look could also be considered your “jeans and t-shirt” look. The focus is on a glowing complexion, defined lashes and brows.

Always do your eye makeup first. This will allow you to apply your eye makeup without worrying about product fallout ruining your concealer or foundation. It will also give you definition and a reference point for your other features. Applying makeup from lightest to darkest and from the brow down seems counterintuitive to the way many of us have learned how to apply makeup, but try it! I promise, it will change your life. It helps your colors blend and still show up as defined as opposed to being kind of muddled. It will also be an effective system to make your routine quick in the morning.

Use Maybelline’s 24-Hour Eye Tattoo in Bronze Truffle as your eyeshadow base. The color is warm and pearly and works double duty as both a color and a primer.

Apply MAC eyeshadow in Dazzlelight at the highest point of the eyebrow as a highlight and inner corner of the eye, Patina in the crease and Brown Taupe in the outer corner. Use a fluffy shadow brush and work fast and blend well. This is a soft and blended look, not one that you’ll have to spend a lot of time on.

Take MAC’s Pressed Pigment powder in Light Touch with your finger and press and roll the product over the eyelid. This will create a wide and bright look. If you’d like a softer look with less shimmer, use a brush.

Chanel Le Volume de Chanel in black is my new favorite mascara. It defines and makes lashes look soft, fluffy and full.

Define brows with an angled brush and NYX’s Tame and Frame pomade in Brunette and brush through.

For the complexion, think lighter and fresh. I used Makeup Forever High Definition Concealer under the eyes for brightness and coverage and NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer for a light and glowy evenness.

NYX has an amazing creme highlighter which I used on the cheekbones in 01 for a light and fresh texture, Estee Lauder’s Resiliance Lift Foundation creme compact for a quick contour and MAC’s Mineralize Skin Finish in Cheeky Bronze for a kiss of color.

Apply false lashes if you wish. I used Ardell’s Wispies for soft fullness without crazy length.

Marc Jacobs eyeliner in black is an emollient and creamy liner that is perfect to press over the lashline. This isn’t a liner look per se, it just makes a soft definition.

Lipstick is a creamy and sheer peachy pink for a gentle definition without a pop of color. Remember, the focus is on the complexion and natural beauty, not a makeup routine of copius amounts of products.

Little Black Dress Look

Summer and Date Night or more formal outings always offers a makeup conundrum. You want to look nice and polished, but the heat and your skin make product slide off your face or look sweaty and unfinished. The following is a look that will offer you a pretty look with soft color that will take you from your day to night and beyond while staying in place.

Prep your eyelids with MAC Prep and Prime 24 hour Extend Eye Base. This is an long lasting primer that has no color or texture, so the eyeshadows you apply over it will stay true to formula.

I used MAC eyeshadow in Shell for the models highlight and inner corner, Trax in the crease and Shadowy Lady in the outer crease. Using Stila’s pressed pigment shadow in Black Diamond, use your ring finger to press and roll the product over the eyelid to get a wet, glittery payoff. The reflective pigments make this look smoky while not being too dark.

Chanel Le Volume de Chanel in black is my new favorite mascara. It defines and makes lashes look soft, fluffy and full.

Define brows with NYX Micro Brow Pencil for minute definition without being obvious.

Use an angled brush with an emollient eyeliner like Marc Jacobs in black to give definition and a liquid liner look that isn’t super sharp.

Prepping the skin with Algenist Pore Correcting Anti-Aging Primer will mattify the skin, but also fill in pores and silk over imperfections to keep your makeup just as beautiful as it was when you applied it. I like to use a primer like this even if I am doing a satin or dewey finish on the complexion. It makes the products work. You want any “glow” to be from products in the place you applied them, not sweat.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation creates a satin finish on the skin that glows from within.

Smashbox Halo Perfecting Bronzer is a lovely contour that doesn’t translate too dark or red or ashy, its the perfect shade for many women.

MAC Pearl Lustre Drops in Barbados Girl on the upper cheeks make a highlight with a color as well as a moist texture that is perfect for the summer months.

Apply MAC lashes in 36 for a fluffy and defined look.

Finish this look with a pinky plum lipstick for color that is understated and classic.
