Best NBA Finals Ever?

In the 1980’s the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics battled for years. In the 1990’s the Chicago Bulls reigned supreme with six titles. And in the 2000’s the Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs both grabbed a few championships. Now, a new day in the NBA features the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers in a 2015 NBA Finals fans could only dream of. With superstars LeBron James and Steph Curry leading the way, one thing is for sure – the ratings will be at an all-time high.

Curry and James both define the new day in NBA basketball; the two stars both feature excellent guard shooting and strong leadership. Curry, the 2015 NBA MVP, is on pace to arguably make him one of the best combo guards to ever play the game in just his sixth season. James is in his fifth straight NBA Finals after being in the last four with the Miami Heat, where they went 2-2. It’s his first year back in Cleveland, but James also led the Cavs to the 2007 Finals where they lost to the Spurs.

So who is the favorite?

The season series is tied 1-1 with key match ups of Curry versus Kyrie Irving, while James and Warriors all-around player Draymond Green lead the way. But the biggest X factor might be both benches that run 10 players deep each, making it one of the hardest finals to predict in a while. Both teams also have first year coaches – David Blatt of the Cavs and Steve Kerr of the Warriors – making it the first time two rookie head coaches have made it to the championship round since the inaugural NBA season 1946-1947. The last time a rookie head coach won it all was Pat Riley with the 1982 Lakers.

These points are all making people wonder: Is this the best NBA Finals ever? One thing is for sure, regardless of one’s rooting interest, it will be entertaining.
