MUA Breakdown:
Beauty w/ Chelsey: For this look, I used Make-Up Designory’s foundation palette as the base and added the It Cosmetics concealer to any dark circles or blemishes. This model already had gorgeous skin so there wasn’t much to do. Then we moved on to cream contouring and highlighting with the Anastasia Beverly Hills cream contour palette. This technique brings out the cheek bones and adds definition to the face. I dabbed some of the Josie Maran liquid illuminator into her skin at the tops of her cheekbones to add some extra glow. Once the face is done, I set everything with the NYX HD translucent power. For her brows I used the Anastasia Dipbrow in chocolate with a small angled brush and just thickened up her brows a bit while following her lovely natural shape. Moving on to eyes, I used the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette to create a soft brown neutral smokey eye and added winged liner to the top for a more dramatic look. I lined her bottom lash line with a black pencil liner and smudged it out with a soft brown shadow on a pencil brush. For lashes, I used the Ardell Wispies. A good tip for applying lashes is to let the glue dry for about 30 seconds on the band before applying to your eye so that it gets tacky and won’t slide all over. For her powder contour I used the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder and worked that into the hollows of her cheeks. To really accentuate the high points of her face, I used the Nars Albatross highlighter on the tops of her cheekbones, down the bridge of her nose, and right below the brows. Since we kept the eyes pretty simple, we went with a purple shade for the lips, MAC’s lipstick in Up The Amp. I then set her face with the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray to make sure everything stayed in place. For the second look, we swapped out the lip color to MAC’s Lady Danger for a bolder statement.
Messy Bun w/ Kat: For this look I used a dry shampoo and a lightweight hairspray to tame down flyaways. A little teasing at the roots and through the hair strand will go a long way when creating a textured top knot. As for the curl, the cool down is the most important. When you release the curl from the iron, mist a lightweight hairspray and don’t touch it! Curling hair is like baking cookies, they have to cool!
