A real G

After beating Notre Dame 63-53 in the 2015 NCAA championship game the UCONN women (38-1) made it three titles in a row, making it head coach Geno Auriemma’s 10th overall title in women’s college hoops. That 10th trophy matches UCLA’s legendary coach John Wooden’s accomplishment, a milestone and a dynasty quite possibly that can never be matched.

Auriemma and Connecticut are dominant in the women’s college game, each year they have elite recruiting classes with kids from all over America line up. His all time record since 1985 is 917-134 a whopping winning percentage of 87% and 10-0 in championship games. Former Tennessee women’s coach Pat Summit had eight championships in her tenure and she was the head coach for 38 years.

Everyone knows the women’s and men’s games are very different, but winning is winning and Geno Auriemma and the Connecticut Huskies are accomplishing goals on top of goals, its almost insane. When it is all said and done this head coach might be the best coach in any sport of all time. At least the numbers will say that, they might need to build him an entire building just for trophies.
